We began as mineral. We emerged into plant life, and into the animal state, and then into being human, and always we have forgotten our former states, except in early spring when we slightly recall being green again.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, this is the realm of the Wood element, the energy of life pushing forward, clearing old stagnation, and inviting flow. The liver, its guiding organ, helps sweep away what no longer serves us, making space for new energy, new ideas, and new life.
