Women's Rooting & Seeding Day Retreat

12 January, AlpenRetreat Austria

"Within every woman there is a wild and natural creature, a powerful force, filled with good instincts, passionate creativity, and ageless knowing"

Clarissa Pinkola Estes

Winter is a time of small death—a sacred pause in the cycle of life, where the outer world softens into stillness and silence. It’s a season of turning inward, as nature releases what has completed its cycle and rests in the quiet of the dark months. This dormancy reflects our own inner journeys: a gentle invitation to let go of old patterns, beliefs, and energies that no longer serve us. Winter reminds us that surrender is not an ending, but a necessary passage before our renewal in Spring.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, Winter is connected with the Water Element and its deep, nourishing yin energy—intuitive, receptive, and restorative. It resonates with the Womb/Hara Chakra, guiding us back to our natural rhythms and aligning us with the greater cycles of nature. Winter encourages us to slow down, listen inward, and honor the body’s need for rest, stillness, and quiet reflection. It is a season that invites us to reconnect with the wisdom of our lineage and the fertile landscape of the subconscious.

The Water Element represents purification, intuition, and the mystery of the inner self. Through this element, we access our deepest wisdom—revealed not through effort, but through stillness, softness, and presence. Women are especially attuned to these realms, naturally connected to creation, cycles, and the unseen spaces where transformation begins.

During Winter, the veils between worlds feel thinner, making our inner depths more accessible. Though these spaces can be uncomfortable or unfamiliar, they hold immense potential for healing and renewal. When we gently turn toward our shadows, we open the door to profound transformation.

Water teaches us to feel at home in our bodies and our surroundings. It cultivates wisdom, hope, compassion, and a quiet inner peace. From this place, joy arises naturally—independent of external circumstances.

In this season, we discover an inner strength. We reconnect with our courage, willpower, and resilience. We learn to move through life’s challenges with greater ease, flowing with whatever comes..

"Do you have the patience to wait until your mind settles and the water is clear. Can you remain unmoving until the right action arises by itself" - Lao tau

“You don’t have to sit outside in the dark. If, however, you want to look at the stars, you will find that darkness is necessary. But the stars neither require nor demand it.”

– Annie Dillard

Debbie

After facing many challenges in my younger (and not so younger!) years, I've been on a lifetime journey to discover what it really means to be healthy and happy. I was introduced to qigong and energy work very early on in my life, and since then, I've been on a path of self-discovery.

In a world full of noise, the simplest things—like breath, movement, self-enquiry, and time in nature—are the most powerful. Nature has everything we need; our bodies are magic, our minds are unlimited. We just need to remember, reconnect, and return to our natural state of being

I'm passionate about sharing these simple teachings with others, as they have made a huge difference in my life. It's not about knowing more intellectually; it's about accessing the knowing and innate intelligence that we already have.

I'm a Wim Hof Method certified instructor, Qigong, Breathwork, Kundalini Yoga, Hatha & Traditional Tantra teacher &  Energy Medicine Practitioner. I'm currently studying Biomancy & Feminine Magic.
